Why Volunteer?

TO HELP OTHERS

Volunteering is a way to aid the church in its outreach to the community. Many hands make light work, and we value those in our community who are willing to give to the most vulnerable.

IT IS CHRIST-LIKE

Jesus is known for His generosity and willingness to help those in need whenever he could. We can strengthen our bond and connection with Jesus Christ by mirroring these positive traits.

INNER GROWTH

Sacrificing your limited time on earth to assist others takes a big heart and a giving attitude.

Volunteer Opportunities

DEACON'S CUPBOARD

This activity is the monthly collection of food and monetary donations to give to the less fortunate in St. Philip. Get involved by bringing your donantions to the church, assist with sorting, packing and distributing packages to those in need.

Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

GRAVEYARD CLEANUP

Our graveyard is a place tranquility, where we can pay respects to our brothers and sisters and reminisce on times spent with them. Our Graveyard Cleanup encourages members of the church and public community alike join hands to help clean and maintain graveyard, the resting place of our friends and loved ones.

FAQ's

Who can volunteer?

Anyone can volunteer!

Can I use these volunteer hours for work/school?

This depends on your institution, but generally we accommodate the requirements needed to prove that you’ve volunteered with us.

After the activity, the priest will provide you with a certification letter, which could be then used to prove community service hours.

How often do volunteer opportunities arise?

Most of our volunteer opportunities are intermittent and depend on the church’s activities. However, the Deacon’s Cupboard happens monthly.
