Looking back at my origins in this church, my parents chose this church for me, since the paternal side of my family was rooted in the St. Philip Parish Church. As I grew up in this church I had no desire to leave. My participation in the church started in Sunday School and as an adult, I am actively involved in various organizations.
St. Philip's Parish Church has been a cornerstone in my life, offering guidance, a sense of belonging, and opportunities for personal growth. Its teachings have instilled values of kindness, empathy, and service, shaping me into the person I am today.
I grew up in the St. Philip Parish Church from a child. My parents attended and ensured that my siblings and I attended as well. Through the years I have continued to be a member of the church, as I enjoy the hymns, the fellowship and the people.
The St. Philip Parish Church has been a beacon in my development from childhood to adulthood. There were a number of individuals, both men and women, who portrayed great spiritual values. Those values impacted on my life in a positive way and played an influential role in who I am today.
As a faithful member of my church, I feel a deep sense of commitment assisting in any way in which I am capable, to the development of the church.
I always feel a sense of warmth at the church and the parishioners are like family to me. The sermons are very inspiring. The impact of my attendance at the church in my life, has caused me to be a very humble and God-fearing person.
Our core values are courage, peace, moderation, love, faith and forgiveness.
To be an agent that ensures God's Love and Help reach all.
Infusing greater spirituality in our individual encounters and interactions with others
St. Philip’s Parish Church is set in a picturesque landscape surrounded by lush greenery, including mahogany, palm, and casuarina trees. The original chapel, built in 1640, was destroyed by a hurricane in 1780. Rebuilt in 1786, it faced devastation again in a hurricane in 1831. The current structure, erected in 1978 after a fire, is the third on this site. Notable leaders and members alike, lead by Rev. Canon Trevor O’Neale, have greatly contributed to its current development. This Anglican Church in Barbados remains a symbol of faith and community, offering Sunday services at 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., and welcoming all to its serene and historic setting. St. Philip’s Parish Church’s vibrant history and continued dedication make it a cornerstone of Anglican worship in Barbados.
